oscillatingworks has been stalled for a while, now is it time to change this.

In Fall 2015 I started to prototype and develop a new side project on my spare time. It was a database engine based on a very simple purpose: store any kind of data into stack data structures. It was called piladb. By then I wasn’t sure about the practical uses of it, but I loved the idea of building a database engine from scratch. Now I can see some use cases, but above all I’m still thrilled to turn this project into a real thing, while getting tons of learnings along the way.

In my head, piladb was always fitting the concept of OSS that ≅oscillatingworks advocates for, but I was making them to keep in distance. Until now.

In order to push piladb development ahead, all time invested by ≅oscillatingworks will be to work on this project. This is, all research and development will head towards reaching the goal specified on the README file, i.e. version 0.1.0.

It will take time, this is still a side project based on my spare time. Patience is a virtue, though.

Regarding ≅oscillatingworks, piladb will be a model of what we try to represent: open source software should be treated as products, attempting to achieve the best user and developer experience, high quality documentation, appealing branding, and application of best practices.

Technical updates might be posted in this blog, but you should most definitely follow our Twitter account for that purpose.
